Funding Rate
A periodic payment between longs and shorts in perpetual futures.
Funding rates rise when one side of the market becomes too crowded and must pay to maintain exposure.
High positive funding often means longs are aggressive, while deeply negative funding shows short-side crowding.
Funding becomes far more useful when paired with open interest, spot volume, and liquidation context.
